Megan, as a Bible nerd who identifies Pagan (because I like how they mark and ritualize such astronomical events as solstices and equinoxes, and honor life on earth) I'm not sure I'd recommend reading the Bible as a way to understand faith for an individual. It really wasn't intended to be a book of science or theology. The writers and redactors did not think that way about their God. That said, read in the proper context, it is a fascinating work of literature; confronting the human experience and how that has shaped how its hearers, and writers, and us, see the world and all its mysteries.

Do read it. Just don't think it will provide any answers. The joy is in the questions, just as it is in science.
