You validate me. I groomed dogs for 30 years, sole proprietor, no employees. I always said that I was free enterprise. I earned my money grooming people's dogs. They worked in businesses near my business where I spent that money: hair salon, local hardware store, etc. So it all went around, to the benefit of my community. By contrast, Petsmart is capitalism. They have stores everywhere, and hire people with no real investment in a relationship with the clients who bring their dogs there.
I was never sure my definition of free enterprise was correct, but from what you say here, sounds like I got it right.
